The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi has held an exhibition to showcase the innovative projects developed by Scholars during the ongoing 2025 Summer Camp.
The exhibition brought together dignitaries, mentors, facilitators, and partners, all converging to witness the creative outputs of Scholars, ranging from entrepreneurial products to social impact proposals.
Organised annually, the Summer Camp brings together more than 1,200 Scholars for two weeks of intensive training, exhibitions, and recreational activities. It remains one of the most significant events on the Programme’s calendar, serving as a platform to implement core enrichment initiatives that form part of the holistic training of Scholars.
This year’s camp focuses on equipping Scholars with practical skills and knowledge to support their community engagement projects and prepare them for life beyond graduation.
Scholars displayed a wide array of projects and products including handmade clothing, wigs, photography, various types of soap, packaged goods, project proposals, data analysis outputs, digital marketing strategies, cakes and pastries, honey and poultry products, paintings, and makeup artistry.

Principal Investigator and Coordinating Lead of the Programme,Prof. Kofi Owusu-Daaku, commended the Scholars for their ingenuity and commitment. He assured them of exciting opportunities ahead but reminded them that these must be earned through competence and consistency.
“There is a lot of wrap-around support out there for Scholars, but it won’t be handed out like your scholarship. You must demonstrate competency in what you’ve learnt,” he said.
“These side hustles mostly end up becoming your main hustles. Use the skills and keep practicing them,” he added.

Deputy Programmes Manager, Mr. Samuel Nash, encouraged Scholars to translate their skills into both philanthropic and commercial ventures.
“What you see today is a result of the days of intensive training. The products, exhibitions, and demonstrations reflect the creativity, innovation, and resourcefulness of our Scholars,” he stated.
“We are confident these skills will not end here but will be carried forward into their communities, workplaces, and entrepreneurial journeys,” he noted.
Dignitaries toured the exhibition stands and commended the Scholars on their impressive efforts and presentation.
The 2025 Summer Camp is expected to climax tomorrow with Sports and Fan Games at the Paa Joe Stadium.
